It’s no secret that Corrie and I are good friends. You’ve seen her bright smile in several places across this site. Something I love so much about Corrie is her sense of spirit and adventure.
When she texted me a photo while on a hike last summer of her holding up her hand to the lens looking like she was about to burst with happiness, I didn’t have to zoom into the picture to see the diamond and know that EJ must have asked her to spend their lives together in marriage. I am honored I was able to take these photos to celebrate their engagement!
We’ve spent a lot of time in Georgetown together, and Corrie and EJ live near the area, so it only made sense to do this shoot in Georgetown. We were also fortunate to be able to spend a little time in Dumbarton Oaks, a gorgeous, serene private garden on the edge of the neighborhood.
I always tell clients they are welcome to bring things to shoots that are special to them and have significant meaning to their relationship. I was surprised and delighted when, in our chat before the shoot, they revealed they had brought along a bunch of colorful, organic carrots! (Smart woman that prefers healthy, beautiful food over flowers from her man).
There’s no question that Corrie and EJ adore each other. Their journey will continue with their wedding next month and I’ve no doubt they have many joyful adventures to come.
I wish you ALL the happiness. But you already knew that. Can’t wait to celebrate with you soon!
